Now that spring is nearly approaching, more activities and longer days are on the horizon! Whether it’s gearing up for next month’s move, a hike, a camping trip, or even spring cleaning, your body could use some prepping to avoid injuries. Staying active requires discipline and consistency, yet sometimes life throws off our routines, making it hard to stay on track. Investing in your health requires time, money, and effort, but when placed in the right hands, they can yield significant results. Having someone dedicated to planning and preparing you to reach your goals allows you to focus on showing up and giving your best. At Health Bound Health Network, we offer a diverse array of services and treatments, including semi-private training at D-GYM Fitness Studio, tailored to support your active lifestyle. All of our trainers are certified professionals ready to assist you with your workout needs and questions.

Studies have shown that working out with a personal trainer can lead to significant improvements in strength gains. Communicating with someone about nutrition, exercise, and receiving support greatly enhances results. Accountability is really important in order for you to attain your fitness goals. It also helps to have someone guide you through each exercise and allow you to develop your own skill sets with someone adjusting your form when needed. Your form is very important, so if our trainers think you could pull a muscle or hurt yourself, they will ask you to adjust your body to allow you to get a deeper stretch. Our trainers will coach you through every routine with enthusiasm and their expertise to demonstrate what can be achieved. As you strengthen your body and start to see improvements, your trainer can evolve your routine to something that will continue to be beneficial for you. Working out in small groups of 1-3 people at D-GYM offers a community of like-minded individuals that you can rely on. Results occur slowly but gradually over time and your body and attitude will start to change. Having a trainer who is a good fit and knowledgeable allows you to bond and develop connections between participants in the class.

It’s important to feel comfortable with whom you are investing your time. We have two wonderful trainers at D-GYM, Kian and Natalie. They are both empathetic and enthusiastic about health and wellness. We have a team here ready to train you toward the goals you are looking for with compassion and motivation. If there is ever a time when you need a break or an adjustment to the workout routine, our team members are here to help you feel your best while working towards your goals. The body is complex, and our trainers know how to adapt to the human body and your unique needs. Being open and transparent about any concerns from the start of your training, but also throughout, is crucial. We are here to motivate you to come back every week and continue to develop your techniques by targeting different body parts that need attention. If you do not understand how to do an exercise or position by yourself or are having trouble doing the exercises at home alone, please let us know so we can assist you in developing your strength and skill sets.

Over time, you will start to see results and feel improvements. In Figure 2, our client is performing one of our exercises with Natalie acting as a spotter. Under the supervision of a trained professional, individuals often tend to lift heavier weights than they would when working alone. Studies have shown this to be the case for trainees when alone versus with a personal trainer, which highlights the importance of having someone help guide you through your goals in a safe and motivating manner. Simply by offering encouragement, helpful guidance, and safety measures, individuals can feel comfortable pushing themselves harder to reach their goals. There are more benefits to working out with a personal trainer than just the physical results. Exercise also enhances your mood, self-esteem, and reduces stress and anxiety levels.

Working out can add major changes to your physical and mental health. It has been shown through studies that consistent exercise can lessen symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress. People are usually treated for these conditions with medication, however, you may find that physical activity in itself can help improve your state of mind. Personal training is a great approach to working out for beginners who do not know where to start but also beneficial for athletes that would like to prepare for a major tournament or season, or for those who have been trying to achieve their fitness goals on their own and need some extra guidance and motivation. Personal training can benefit people at various stages of life and with different goals. Health Bound is here to help you invest in your health. There are a variety of methods that can be used to work the same body part, as seen in Figures 3 and 4, doing exercises together can help motivate the participants to move as a team. Personal training is a great way to start developing your confidence in the gym and help better prepare you for the world, which is why we are highlighting our D-GYM services at the Pape location in Toronto.
